La la la

The Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and then 20th century are the periods for classical guitar composers. And what do you know, all of my favorite are in the Classical period?? That would be from 1751 to 1825. Here's a list of my favorite composers, well the ones I enjoy playing the most. Its biased because my guitar teacher is the one who used to chose my pieces, and so now I tend to turn towards these guys:

-Ludwig van Beethoven (Dont play much, but well its talent, so you have to have some respect)
-Ferdinando Carulli (Carulli composed some great pieces, like his Ten Preludes. Its repetitive, but so fun)
-Fernando Sor
-Mateo Carcassi

So if any one has any other composers that have amazing music and that's fun to play, let me know. Because i am finally re-united with my baby, my guitar, (not my classical) and need some new music to learn.

Typing of my guitar, no matter how hard you try to play moonlight sonata on an electric, it will never be the same on a classical ( or better yet, a piano).

Bbbback in q-town

HERROW!
So i guess i'll write a little bit about my trip back to red deer. I watched some sweet movies while i was back home, me and my sister went and saw Whip It, which was HILARIOUS. I love Ellen Page. And my sister loves Drew Barrymore so it was a perfect match. I also watched Stargate with Jeremiah...it was...yeah...no it was cool.
I hung out with my family a fair bit, did some activities with my nieces like carving pumpkins and making gingerbread halloween houses.
I saw some sweet karaoke with Riley and his friends! Best guns and roses impression i've ever heard.
Calgary with beth and pam was sick! We went to a bar and there ended up being a Hip Hop show. i never thought i'd ever see myself at a hip hop show, but it was quite entertaining. We did an awesome job at pretending we knew the lyrics and were pretty much the bands biggest fans.
I did quite a bit while i was back.

SO right now i have to study for a three hour french test that will figure out whether i need to be in a french class or not..the answer is obvious, i'll be put in a french class. which is good, i need to improve my franksten-phone-ness. (as nick would say)

THis is a boring blog im sry. Ill think of something cool to talk about later.

I watch Fluffeetalks, his videos are hilarious, and this one always makes me laugh.

These are my nieces that i love to pieces, and miss terribly!! Mackenzie is the 3 and Ashlyn is turning 1. I cannot wait to see them in a few weeks when i come back to red deer for reading week.

Im so stoked on coming back for the week to see my friends and family. And it will be halloween, so it would be cool to hang out with friends for that.

This has been an AMAZING week. And so stressful too. The stressful part was having 3 exams and 1 quiz in one week. But it was amazing because i got to see Riley and kevin :) ! And this weekend is gonna be sweet because a friend from class, Peter, who is an anglophone from BC, invited me to spend thanksgiving with his wife and family, so its going to be soo soo nice to spend the holiday with them.

So yeah, this was just a really great week and im stoked for turkey!! (oh man sort of scared since im so picky though...they're gonna make fun of me!! )

Blog numero uno

Bonjour!

Right now I am in Québec city at Université Laval taking classes that will take me towards a bacc. of Biology.

I have to reach a 2.67/4.33 average to continue, which is about an 80%. That's freaking hard. I thought it wouldnt be too bad, but when you have to keep track of five different classes, it's pretty difficult. My marks aren't so great right now. Everyone is telling me to work harder, and I'm trying!! There's only so much stress I can handle!

Anyways, I'm going to try to be mature about it and think of other options incase I cant reach that 2.67. My first option is: Working back home, then going to college to take teaching. Second option: Doing one of those nanny programs and being a nanny in France or something. Third option: Flight attendant. How cool would that be?!

So this is my first blog, I've always thought the idea of blogging was cool, so I guess this is a start.
